In the last years it was more often that I was booked for photoexposition, events, workshops and other screenings. We are getting a lot of requests national and international. Also more often there is an interest into Meet & Greets with me like also livephotoshootings, like for example at the last friday in the electromarket Saturn. Also in the coming year there will be some workshops and presentations from me. Of course this means on the one hand for me and my team a lot of work, but on the other side it is a lot of fun to show you the work of a professional photographer. I always see that you are really interested and have a lot of different questions. One of the most often questions is where is the difference between technic and talent? My philosophy is that when you photograph a picture, which is technicaly perfect, it is not always the case that the picture is also a good photo. The eye makes the picture not the camera. You can see very often at my workshops how easy it is to go on that way in the wrong direction. For me it is natural that the important thing in a picture is the picture language and the idea behind the picture. In a lot of mails from you it was very obviously, like also at the participants of the workshop, how important the technic for you is. I never thought about that very much. Of course it is a part in the professional photography but maybe this is one of the secrets of my success that I dont think so much about that and that it is not so important for me if the clourtemperature or the whitebalance is right. Also it is not important with which equipment you photograph or if the histogramm of a picture shows the right data. Because that all is so secondary for someone who is just interested into photography. I tell you some examples Alfred Eisenstaedt, Helmut Newton, Terry Richardson, Herb Ritts, Robert Mapplethorpe or Ansel Adams. All of these were really worldstars in photography and they all just proved their vision just with picture language and their feelings. For them the technic was never important. Vision is a talent which you have or not, you can not learn it, but of course you can try to go the right way. At the shooting at Saturn we photographed with the Miss Austria Tatjana Batinic, with which I have worked from her very beginning. Alss she proved that you need to have talent and ambition and for me it was great to see that also she changed in her career and get more professional. On stage this was of course very helpful. One of my workshop participants helped me at the shooting as my assistant, Franz Ertl did his job very good. Booked from Nikon we made four shows in the afternoon with which we fascinated the audience. Also we showed how you can make great pictures with not much effort and which equipment is good for that. I hope I could make you with this blog a small christmaspresent. And that you are full of high hopes for the next shootings and storys. Maybe you can forget sometimes everything, take the camera and trie to show the world with your eyes in the right light, just be focused on the important things. In den letzten Jahren wurde ich immer öfter für Fotomessen, Veranstaltungen, Workshops und andere Vorführungen gebucht.
Sowohl national wie auch international werden die Anfragen immer mehr.
Auch entsteht immer öfter das Interesse nach Meet & Greets mit mir sowie Livefotoshootings, wie zum Beispiel am vergangenen Freitag in dem Elektromarkt Saturn.
Auch im kommenden Jahr gibt es wieder einige Workshops und Vorträge von mir zu besuchen. Dies bedeutet zwar zum einen mehr Arbeit für mich und mein Team zum anderen macht es aber auch Spaß Euch zu zeigen wie man als Profi so arbeitet.
Man merkt immer, dass ihr mit viel Begeisterung bei der Sache seid und es tauchen immer die unterschiedlichsten Fragen auf.
Eine der häufigsten Fragen die mir gestellt werden ist, worin der Unterschied zwischen Technik und Talent liegt.
Meine Philosophie ist ja, dass, wenn man ein Bild technisch perfekt fotografiert, man nicht automatisch davon ausgehen kann, dass es es sich um ein gutes Fotos handelt. Das Auge macht das Foto nicht die Kamera und man kann bei den Workshops gut sehen wenn jemand auf dem Weg der Fotografie in die falsche Richtung geht.
Für mich ist es das natürlichste der Welt, dass es immer um die Bildsprache and Idee hinter dem Foto geht. In den vielen E-Mails von Euch in der letzten Zeit war deutlich zu merken, wie auch bei den Teilnehmern der Workshops, wie wichtig Euch die Technik in der Fotografie ist. Ich habe mir dazu nie wirklich viele Gedanken gemacht. Sicherlich ist das ein Teil der Profifotgrafie aber vielleicht ist das ein Geheimnis meines Erfolges, dass ich mir darüber nicht so viele Gedanken mache und es mir auch nicht so wichtig ist ob die Farbtemperatur oder der Weißabgleich stimmt.
Ebenso nicht mit welchem Equipment ich fotografiere oder ob das Histogramm bei einem Foto den idealen Wert anzeigt. Denn all dies ist so nebensächlich und interessiert jemanden der Fan der Fotografie ist herzlich wenig. All jene Fotografen sind Weltstars der Fotografie und sie alle haben nur durch Ihre Bildsprache und ihr Gefühl für das richtige, Sehen bewiesen.
Bei Ihnen stand die Technik nie im Vordergrund. Sehen ist ein Talent welches man hat oder nicht, lernen kann man dies nicht. Man kann natürlich versuchen den richtigen Weg zu gehen. Bei dem Shooting im Saturn haben wir mit der Miss Austria Tatjana Batinic, welche ich bereits von Beginn Ihrer Modelkarriere kenne, fotografiert.
Auch Sie hat bewiesen, dass man Talent und Ehrgeiz haben muss um voran zu kommen und ich hab mich sehr gefreut zu sehen, wie auch Sie sich in den letzten Jahren gesteigert hat. Auf der Bühne war dies natürlich viel Wert. Einer meiner Workshopteilnehmer stand mir als Assistent zur Seite, Franz Ertl hat seine Arbeit toll gemacht. Gebucht von Nikon haben wir vier Shows am Nachmittag gemacht mit welchen wir die Zuseher gefesselt haben.
Auch haben wir so gezeigt wie man mit einfachen Mitteln tolle Ergebnisse erzielen kann und welches Equipment sich dazu eignet.
