In Los Angels we met and photographed Tangie Ambrose! She is an actress, moderator and comedian. At the shooting we had really much fun because Tangie has so much positive energy and fun at her work like nobody else I have seen. There were times where it was really hard to keep being focused on the photography because we had so much to laugh about. Together with Ben Affleck and Christina Appelgate she played in th movie "Surving Christmas". Also she played in the classic movie from Quentin Tarantino "Jackie Brown", by now she is plaing in the american TV serial "Chocolate News" in the mainrole next to David Alan Grier and also in series like CSI and Bones.
The great part on the photography is that you can meet many people and it is perfect if it is, like with Tangie, that we like eachother from the first second. So you can also find very easy new freinds. This was definitley the case at the shooting with Tangie.
My assistant Roman was there earlier and build like always a perfect set. We photographed Tangie in a great suite, but also I always have with me a paper or other beckground to have the option to make also some classic studiophotographies. Often it is enough to have with you a background with about one meter and a tape with which you can tape it at the wall, which you dont need for the sujet. Also I used two spotlights from the back to accent the background. At the shooting with Tangie for me it was also very important to underline her positive energy.
All in all I used four lightsources in different ways. At the black and white photographies I had two spotlights from the back with a distance of two meters. I really like to work with lightcones to beware any kind of diffused light. For the mainlight I used a small softbox.
Currently we came back from Italy and have now a lot of work an new productions. In December we fligh to Berlin to present there one of my photographies at the city hall, because it will used as a picture for an adventwindow. At this I was sponsored and supported through the TV channel N24.
See you soon
Yours Manfred
