Since a few years I support the Miss Austria Contest, a very special contest. Also in this year there were a lot of candidates. To remeber the rules, in every provinz contenders can be a part of the contests, if they are one of the two best girls they get the chance to be a part at the Miss Austria contest. Then a jury with celebrities, people from advertising and other experts, like me, decide about who is the winner of the contest and therefore the most beautiful woman in whole Austria.
Once I said in an interview that the Miss Austria Contest is comparable with wine, there are good and bad years related to the models and contenders. That is definitely my opinion, sometimes like in 2004, where Silvia Hackel becomes the Miss Austria, it is from the beginning very clear who is the winner. At other contests there were about 3 or 4 girls from which you could expect that the will win.
But in this year I think there are 5 till 6 girls who really have the potential to win this contest because I think except of 4 girls they are all have a really good chance to win, a winegrower would say a good year. In this year we can find some very classic modelfaces but also there are a few faces which are perfect for commercials. Also you can see a lot of the girls have a good presents on stage and charme. Which is on the one side very important for the jury but also in the interviews. Because of I am sitting in the jury, next to my good friend Gitta Saxx, I am very glad to see an exciting competition. I have a little benefit to the other judges because I photographed all the girls before the contest for printmedias. So I have a better overlook about their presents, talent and of course their ambition, which you definitely need for this competition. In this year the whole prearrangement for the contest and of course the contest itself was escorted from the privat TV channel ATV. The final contest you can see on March 31. 2009 at 20.15 pm on ATV. Bereits viele Jahre begleite ich schon die Wahl zur Miss Austria, ein Modelcontest der besonderen Art. Auch in diesem Jahr gab es in jedem Bundesland eine Vielzahl an Bewerberinnen. Um nocheinmal kurz die Regeln zu erläutern, so gibt es in jedem Bundesland die Möglichkeit sich zu bewerben um dann an einem Contest teilzunehmen, hat man dann das Glück bei diesem unter die ersten Zwei zu kommen, hat man die Chance sein Können bei der Miss Austria Wahl zu beweisen. Eine Fachjury aus Prominenz, Werbung und Fachleuten wie mich, entscheiden dann wer die Siegerin wird. Ich habe einmal aus Spaß in einem Interview gesagt, dass es mit der Miss Austria wie mit dem Wein ist, es gibt gute und schlechte Jahre was die Wahl der Models und Teilnehmerinnen betrifft.
Und dazu stehe ich auch, manchmal, wie im Jahre 2004 bei Silvia Hackl, war es eindeutig, so dass vom ersten Auftritt an klar war wer die Siegerin ist, bei anderen Wahlen entgegen hätte man 3-4 Kandidatinen den Titel zugetraut. Allerdings in diesem Jahr gibt es für mich 5-6 Favoritinnen und auch über eine Überraschung würde ich mich nicht all zu sehr wundern, denn ich denke bis auf 4 Kandidatinnen haben alle eine sehr gute Chance zu gewinnen, ein Winzer würde sagen ein gutes Jahr. In diesem Jahr sind einerseits viele klassische Modelgesichter dabei ebenso findet man aber auch einige Werbegesichter, außerdem haben viele von Ihnen ein tolles Auftreten und Charme was sowohl bei der Jury gut ankommt wie auch in den Interviews von großem Nutzen ist.
Da ich selbst in der Jury sitzen werde, zusammen mit meiner guten Freundin Gitta Saxx, freue ich mich auf einen spannenden Wettkampf.
Allerdings habe ich gegenüber den anderen Juroren einen kleinen Vorteil, da ich alle Kandidatinnen bereits im Vorhinein für diverse Printmedien fotografiert habe. So habe ich einen noch besseren Überblick über ihr Auftreten, Talent und vor allem den Biß, den sie unbedingt brauchen um zur Siegerin gekürt zu werden.
In diesem Jahr wurde die Vorbereitung für die Wahl wie auch die Wahl selbst von dem Privatsender ATV begleitet, das Endergebnis wird dann am 31.03.2009 in der "Miss Austria" Dokusoap um 20.15 Uhr auf ATV zu sehen sein.
