First of all I want to say thank you for the requests and fans on facebook. Please dont be mad if I am not answer every single question! Before I will start telling you about the shooting with Roland Kickinger, I want to say to somebody good bye. Somebody who became one of the best photographers in Austria and also in other countrys. At the beginning of my career many people confound me with him also some thought he was my father. He was very famous for his behavior with models, although he was never an idol for me. In the movie "MODELS" he played himself. In January this year he died all alone, which made me very sad. The last time I saw him was as he came personally to my bookpresentation to congratulate me for my success. THANK YOU PETER BAUMANN and rest in peace!!!
Back to LA where we photographed the new Terminatoractor Roland Kickinger. It is his fault that I am getting more often muscle ache from the gym. I met him for the first time in Vienna, in the Topgym. There we talked about and planed the shooting in Los Angeles. It was really a pleasure to work with him. In the morning of the shootingday he came with his selfmade proteinpancakes. Nelly made the make up and my assistant Roman build the set for the shooting. In 1997 Roland was for the first time in front of a camera, as guestactor in the sitcom "Hang Time". Except of a litte role as an supporting actor in 1998 in the movie "Leathal Weapon 4" he was only in TV-series or guestactor in sitcomes. There are to point out "Home Improvement"(1999), King of Queens (2003) or the Closer (2006). Betwenn 2000 and 2002 he was the leading actor in the short sitcome "Son of the Beach" which was an parody on the series Baywatch - The Lifeguards of Malibu. 2005 Roland Kickinger played his, till there, famous role. In the TV-biography See Arnold Run he played the young Arnold Schwarzenegger. Another parallel between Scharzenegger and Kickinger is the fact that they both played the role of Terminator. So Kickinger stands in front of the camera for the movie Terminator Salvation, which will come 2009 into the cinemas. The Shooting was really funny and he is a really nice, sympathetic and very honest guy, someone who you will not meet that often. The pictures will be showen at my new exhibition "VISIONS". We are very happy to meet Roland again in Vienna or LA. The next time I will tell you more about my crazy Casting und about how many girls want to be the next Miss Austria!!! Yours Manfred

Bevor ich euch heute von meinem Fotoshooting mit Roland Kickinger berichte, möchte ich mich hiermit von jemandem verabschieden. Jemand der es geschafft hat zu den besten Fotografen Österreichs zu zählen wie auch über die Grenzen hinaus bekannt wurde. Am Anfang meiner Karriere haben mich nicht wenige mit meinem Namensvetter verwechselt, ihn sogar für meinen Vater gehalten. Sein Verhalten gegenüber den Models mit denen er gearbeitet hat machte ihn einzigartig, auch wenn er nie mein Vorbild war. In dem Kinofilm "MODELS" hat er sich selbst verkörpert. Im Januar ist er einsam und alleine verstorben, dies hat mich sehr getroffen. Ist er doch noch zu meiner Buchpräsentation gekommen um mir persönlich zu meinem Erfolg zu gratulieren.

Zurück nach LA, wo wir den neuen Terminatordarsteller Roland Kickinger fotografiert haben. Er ist schuld, dass ich mir jetzt wieder regelmäßig einen Muskelkater im Fitnessstudio hole. Getroffen habe ich ihn das erste Mal in Wien, im Topgym. Da haben wir bereits das Fotoshooting in LA besprochen und geplant. Es war wirklich eine Freude mit ihm zu arbeiten. In der Früh kam er beim Shooting an mit seinen selbstgemachten Proteinpalatschinken. Nelly machte sein Make-up und mein Assistent Roman baute das Set auf.
1997 stand Roland erstmals vor der Filmkamera, als Gastdarsteller in der Sitcom "Hang Time". Mit Ausnahme einer Nebenrolle im Jahre 1998 in dem Film "Lethal Weapon 4" beschränkte sich sein Filmschaffen meist auf Fernsehfilme oder Auftritte in Fernsehserien. Hervorzuheben sind Auftritte in "Hör mal wer da hämmert" (1999), "King of Queens" (2003) und "The Closer" (2006). Zwischen 2000 und 2002 war Kickinger zudem Hauptdarsteller in der kurzlebigen Fernsehserie "Son of the Beach", einer Parodie auf Baywatch - Die Rettungsschwimmer von Malibu.
2005 übernahm Roland Kickinger seine bis dato bekannteste Filmrolle. In der Fernsehbiografie "See Arnold Run", verkörperte er den jungen Arnold Schwarzenegger. Eine weitere Parallele zwischen Schwarzenegger und Kickinger ist die Tatsache, dass beide in die Rolle des Terminators geschlüpft sind. So steht Kickinger für den Film Terminator Salvation vor der Kamera, der 2009 in die Kinos kommen soll.
Das Fotoshooting war wirklich lustig und er ist ein netter, sympathischer und auch sehr gerader Mensch, einer von denen die man nur sehr selten trifft.
Die Fotos werden bei meiner neuen Ausstellung "VISIONS" gezeigt. Auch freuen wir uns sehr auf ein Wiedersehen mit Robert in LA oder Wien.
