In a lot of my interviews I hear the question how I get in touch with the stars. So on the one hand agents and publicits are getting interested into my person and my photographys. They read something in articels or did see some infos in different medias. On the other hand of course also the celebrities recommend me to others. So it was also the fact at Roger Cross, who is married with the daughter auf Katerina Jacob a good friend and german actress of us. Some days before the shooting we met him for the first time in the restaurant Wabi-Sabi in Venice/LA for dinner. Then we arranged a date for a shooting and were very excited for the great production. On the shootingday itself of course we photographed the whole family and everyone separate. I worked with two softboxes, some spotlights and of course with lightner from California Sunbounce. Like on the set of movies I always changed my directions so that we could jump from one set to the other in a short time. Roger did had a guest role in a lot of Hollywood Blockbusters like: "The X-Files", "Stargate SG-1", "Highlander" and "Star Trek: Enterprise". Main roles he played in movies like "The Chronicles of Riddick" or "Beautiful Joe". Some of you will also know him als agent Curtis Manning from the tv series "24" where he played next to Kiefer Sutherland. Also you can see Roger in the Oliver Stone movie: "World Trade Center". It was a lot of fun to work with Roger, he is a really impressive man with a remarkable character which you can feel in every picture. The elaboration of the pictures I did knowingly in different ways. Some pictures are in colour and some in black/white. For me it was important to show at first side how varied my photographies are and of course how miscellaneous the faceimpressions from Roger are. We are happy to see them again in summer. Also in the last days my cityworkshop did find place. For the first time, beacuse of your mails, we created a workwhop to the topic of travelphotographie. At this, as you can see in the video, we went through the city of Vienna.

In vielen Interviews wird mir die Frage gestellt wie ich zu den Stars komme. Nun auf der einen Seite werden die Agenten und Publicists auf mich und meine Fotografien aufmerksam. Teils durch Artikel oder auch Beiträge in verschiedenen Medien. Zum anderen werde ich natürlich auch von den Stars selbst weiterempfohlen.
So war es auch bei Roger Cross, welcher mit der Tochter von Katerina Jacob einer deutschen Schauspielerin und guten Freundin von uns verheiratet ist. Einige Tage vor dem Shooting trafen wir uns das erste Mal im Wabi-Sabi in Venice/LA zum Abendessen.
Wir vereinbarten dann einen Termin für ein Shooting und freuten uns auf die coole Produktion.
Am Shootingtag selbst fotografierte ich natürlich die gesamte Familie wie auch jeden seperat. Dabei arbeitete ich mit 2 Softboxen, wenigen Spitzlichtern und natürlich mit Aufhellern von California Sunbounce. Wie im Film veränderte ich ständig die Einstellungen, so dass wir rasch von einem Set zum anderen springen konnten. Roger hatte einige Gastrollen in vielen großen Hollywood Blockbustern wie: "The X-Files", "Stargate SG-1", "Highlander" und "Star Trek: Enterprise". Hauptrollen spielte er unter anderem in Filmen wie "The Chronicles of Riddick" oder "Beautiful Joe". Viele werden ihn wahrscheinlich auch als Agent Curtis Manning aus der Serie "24" kennen, wo er an der Seite von Kiefer Sutherland spielte. Ebenfalls zu sehen ist Roger in dem Oliver Stone Film "World Trade Center"
Es hat viel Spaß gemacht mit Roger zu arbeiten. Er ist ein toller Mann mit einem bemerkenswerten Charakter den man in jedem Foto spüren kann.
Die Ausarbeitung der Fotografien habe ich variiert und bewußt die Fotos mal in Farbe und mal in schwarz/weiß entwickelt. Mir war wichtig zu zeigen wie vielfältig zum einen meine Fotografien sind und zum anderen Rogers Gesichtsausdrücke. Wir freuen uns Sie im Sommer in LA zu sehen.
Auch fand in den vergangenen Tagen mein Cityworkshop statt.
Zum ersten Mal habe ich, aufgrund vieler Mails von euch, einen Workshop zum Thema Reisefotografie gemacht. Dabei sind wir, wie ihr im Video sehen könnt, durch die Wiener Innenstadt gezogen.
Dear blogreader, I need to appologize myself for not writing to you for such a long time. The reason for that was an rupture, the stay in the hospital and af course the regeneration time. But now I am a hundret percent fit and we can start in the adventurous summer. There will be photoshootings with new celebrities in Los Angeles and models on the beach and in the desert. First we are searching together with the advertising agency z-works the new Burger King Face in Swiss and Austria. Are you a part of the contest? My agent Sonja Kuba is by now in London to operate at full stretch for my exhibition which will start in October in The Air Gallery this year.
As I heard that we will photograph Kaya, a singer of the Pussycat Dolls, I was very excited. A really beautiful woman with a great voice and a perfect charisma what can you more expect as a photographer. We met Kaya in Los Angeles in the Beverly Hills Tower Hotel. Kaya Jones was till 2004 a member of the Pussycat Dolls. She did leave the group to work on her own solo music carreer. She released her first single and the music video "Hollywood Doll" in July 2009. Also she contributed two songs for the Hollywood Blockbuster "American Pie". Now 2010 she will release her new album!!
Kaya did came to the set with her publicist and agent. From the very beginning we had the feeling for knowing each other since a long time. She had a really great charisma and a unblemished face. Nelly started with the make up and the hairstyling. I asked Kaya of course how many time she has for the shooting and she told me as long as you like. That sentence of course you like to hear from stars like Kaya. So I thought a little bit about the sujets and told then my assistants to build up four different sets. We had a lot of fun while we are photographed. At the lightdirections we used some different typs on the one hand very complicated and elaborated but also with a lot of natural light and California Sunbounce. Kaya is very professional like she is moving at concerts and the charisma she shows on stage the same she had at the shooting on the set. Today my pictures are on her new website and we were all very contented after that day.
At the next time I will tell you more about my shooting with the new Hollywoodstar Roger Cross, which played in the movie "TRANSFORMERS".

Nun bin ich wieder 100% fit es geht in einen abenteuerlichen Sommer. Mit dabei sind Fotoshootings mit neuen Celebrities in Los Angeles sowie Models am Strand und in der Wüste. Zuerst suchen wir zusammen mit der Werbeagentur z-works das neue Burger King Face in der Schweiz und Österreich. Habt ihr euch dafür beworben?
Meine Agentin Sonja Kuba ist zur Zeit in London wo die Vorbereitungen für meine Ausstellung im Oktober in The Air Gallery bereits auf Hochtouren läuft.
Als ich erfahren habe, dass wir Kaya Jones, eine Sängerin der Pussycat Dolls, fotografieren werden war meine Freude groß.
Eine wunderschöne Frau mit einer tollen Stimme und perfekter Ausstrahlung, was kann es für einen Fotografen besseres geben.
Wir haben Kaya in Los Angeles im Beverly Hills Tower Hotel getroffen. Kaya Jones war bis zum Jahre 2004 ein Mitglied der Pussycat Dolls.
Sie verließ die Gruppe um an ihre Solo Musikkarriere zu arbeiten. Sie veröffentlichte ihre Single und das Musik-Video "Hollywood Doll" im Juli 2009. Auch trug Sie zwei Lieder zu dem Hollywood Blockbuster "American Pie" bei. 2010 erscheint nun Ihr neues Album!!
Kaya erschien am Set mit ihrem Publicist und ihren Agenten. Bereits von Beginn an hatten wir das Gefühl, dass wir uns schon lange Zeit kannten.
Sie hat eine wirklich tolle Ausstrahlung und ein makelloses Gesicht zum fotografieren. Nelly startete dann mit dem Make up und dem Haarstyling.
Ich fragte Kaya natürlich auch wieviel Zeit wir für das Shooting haben und sie meinte nur solange Du möchtest.
So etwas hört man natürlich gerne von Stars wie Kaya. Also lies ich mir alles ein wenig durch den Kopf gehen und ließ dann von meinen Assistenten vier unterschiedliche Sets aufbauen. Beim fotografieren selbst hatten wir viel Freude und Spaß. Bei den Lichteinstellungen haben wir auch variiert mal kompliziert und aufwendig und dann auch einfach nur mit natürlichem Licht und California Sunbounce gearbeitet.
Kaya ist ein Profi durch und durch und so wie sie sich bei ihren Konzerten bewegt und welche Ausstrahlung Sie auf der Bühne zeigt, tut Sie auch genau dies am Set beim fotografieren. Heute schmücken meine Fotos ihre neue Website und wir alle waren nach dem Tag sehr zufrieden und freuen uns Kaya bald wieder zu sehen.

As we held in our hands about 10 days ago the first copy of my new book, my wife and I were very emotional. Because a picture book like this showa on the one hand how many work you have did an how much you did see but also on the other hand how fast the time runs by. Without any overacting I can say that this book, beside to the seven other books I have published till yet, is my best work.
You can find in it a Best of form my work and from all topics nude, landscapephotography and of course celebritie pictures. ALso you can find in the book a great foreword, written from my agent Sonja Kuba. You need to read it to get an impression about my work and daily routine and of course if you like to find out how an artist like my is. Thank you Sonja for that! A moving life- the first step to moving pictures. Opaque but also trustworthy was definitely my first impression of the Master himself. Other than this I had no idea about who he was and what he did. I had read the job description and found it interesting, so I had vowed to try my best. As I took the first step into the lobby of his office, I saw that on every single wall the same winsome and convincing smile from thousands of articles seemed to stare at me.
So I sat down in front of the man who all of my friends were so impressed by and whose pictures so affected them.
And from this impressive and extraordinary artist came the first question to me: If I “had any problem with dogs.” (So my confusion was nearly complete!) After this the question followed if I would have any problems telephoning with the manager of Roger Moore if he called. Shaking my head “no” but granted still a little bit doubtful I denied it - not knowing at this moment that I would be talking to him just two weeks later….
These were the first steps in my getting to get to know Manfred Baumann and everything behind him. Even after 1.5 years I am not able to claim that I truly know about the complicated network behind Manfred Baumann, his work and of course his visions. But I can not escape the thought, that also this fact is part of the huge master plan of
Manfred Baumann....

The book itself we presented in the city of Vienna at one of my partners RADO. A lot of my friends and medias were there and were excited to see my new book. Also our friends from Germany, he family Effenberg did came aspecially for the presentation to Vienna for supporting me. Such a book presentation is of course very important for the medias and it was very successful. But for me a Meet & Greet with my fans is even more important, because of there are people who are really interested into my photographies and work and not only because of the medias, celebrities and the buffet. On the day after the book presentation we had the Meet & Greet with the fans. Altough I had an infection with high temperature I decided to go to the event. The Hotel Roomz did supportet me very much at the event. 90 minutes I could talk with fans about photography. I decided to do another Meet & Greet at Christmas. Soon we will go back to Los Angeles and I have some new ideas in my mind and painted it into my scribble book. Like my new nude sujet Party which is one of the few pictures which are in colour. Als wir vor ca. 10 Tagen das erste Exemplar des neuen Buches in den Händen hielten waren meine Frau und ich sehr emotional. Denn ein Bildband wie dieser zeigt zum einen wieviel man in den letzten Jahren gearbeitet und gesehen habt zum anderen aber auch wie schnell die Zeit läuft. Ohne zu übertreiben möchte ich sagen, dass dies, unter den sieben Bildbänden die ich bereits veröffentlicht habe, mein bestes Werk ist. Darin zu finden ist ein Best of aus all meinen Werken aus all meinen drei Bereichen Akt, Landschaftsaufnahmen und Celebritie Fotografie. Dazu ist im Buch auch ein tolles Vorwort zu finden, geschrieben von unserer Agentin Sonja Kuba. Dieses muss jeder lesen der einen Einblick in meinen Alltag gewinnen will und herausfinden will wie ein künstler wie ich so tickt. Danke dafür Sonja! Auszug aus dem VORWORT von SONJA:
Ein bewegtes Leben – der erste Schritt zu bewegenden Bildern „Undurchsichtig und doch vertrauenswürdig“ war definitiv der erste Eindruck, den ich von dem „Meister“ schlechthin hatte. Nebenbei hatte ich keine Ahnung, wer er war und was er tat. Ich las die Stellenbeschreibung und fand sie recht interessant, also versuchte ich mein Glück. Als ich den Vorraum betrat, lächelte mir von jeder Wand, aus unzähligen Zeitungsartikeln, immer dasselbe einnehmende und überzeugende Grinsen entgegen.Da saß ich also vor dem Mann, von dem all meine Freunde so beeindruckt waren und dessen Bilder sie bewunderten und von diesem beeindruckenden und außergewöhnlichen Künstler ist eine der ersten Fragen an mich „ob ich hundelieb bin“ – die Verwirrung war perfekt. Gleich darauf folgte die Frage, ob ich ein Problem damit hätte, wenn mich Roger Moores Manager anrufen würde und ich mit ihm sprechen müsste. Kopfschüttelnd und zugegebenermaßen ein wenig ungläubig verneinte ich, nicht wissend, dass ich mich bereits zwei Wochen später mit ihm unterhalten würde....Dies waren die ersten Schritte Manfred Baumann und alles, was dahinter steckt, kennen zu lernen. Auch nach 1,5 Jahren wage ich es nicht zu behaupten, dass ich das komplizierte Netz hinter Manfred Baumann, seiner Arbeit und seinen Visionen durchschaue. Doch ich kommeum den Gedanken, dass auch dies nur ein kleiner Teil seines Masterplans ist, nicht herum........

Das Buch selbst haben wir in der Wiener Innenstadt bei meinem Partner RADO präsentiert.
Viele Freunde und Medien waren anwesend und gespannt auf mein neustes Werk. Auch unsere Freunde aus Deutschland, die Familie Effenberg kamen extra zur Präsentation um mich zu unterstützen. Eine solche Buchpräsentation ist zwar medial sehr wichtig und war für uns sehr erfolgreich. Für mich ist allerdings ein Meet & Greet mit meinen Fans viel wichtiger, da man sich hier wirklich für meine Arbeit und Fotografien interessiert und nicht nur wegen der Medien, Prominenz oder dem Buffet kommt.
Gleich am Tag nach der Buchpräsentation hatten wir dann das Meet & Greet mit den Fans. Obwohl ich mir einen Virus eingefangen hatte mit hohem Fieber, habe ich es mir nicht nehmen lassen dieses zu veranstalten. Das Hotel Roomz hat mich hier sehr toll unterstützt.
90 Minuten konnte ich mich dem stellen und über Fotografie mit interessierten Fans sprechen. Ich habe vor ein weiteres Meet & Greet zu Weihnachten zu veranstalten. Bald geht es wieder nach Los Angeles und ich habe auch schon viele neue Fotoideen in meinem Kopf bzw. in mein Skizzenbuch gezeichnet.
So wie auch das neue Kunstsujet Party welches eines der wenigen Fotos ist, die ich in Farbe lasse. Über meinen Onlineshop bekommt ihr mein neues Buch PHOTOGRAPHIE natürlich auch handsigniert!!
