As a big fan of music it was a special honor for me to get the opportunity to photograph the international Star Johnny Logan. Johnny Logan was born in Australia! He is the only musician which won two times the Eurovision Songcontest. Logan won the Songcontest in 1980 and 1987. He was very successful with titles like "What's Another Year" and "Hold Me Now".Also with his actual album "Irish Connection" he is celebrating a big success in the skandinavian staats. In Denmark he got Platin, gold in Sweden and double Platin in Norway and not at least he was in all three countrys on the numbr one of the albumcharts. All concerts in these countrys were completley sold out. Johnny was in Vienna to perfom on the Donauislandfestival. The Donauislandfestival is a open air festival with free entry, which finds place since 1984 at the end of June in Vienna. With almost 3 million visitors on three days it is the biggest festival in whole Europe. We photographed Johnny in the Hilton Danube Hotel. One hour before the shooting my new assistant built the whole set in the, for us specialy reserved conferencroom. The set includes a fold away background, a lightabsorption and 5 lights. I used a mainlight through a small softbox in front of him, the background with the light of two flashlights and two pointed lights from a right angle on Johnny from the back. Nelly made Johnnys make up and we found pretty fast in a conversation. Johnny is really nice and we had a good connection. We talked a lot about the music business and about the Songcontest and about that the Songontest becomes in the last years more and more a joke. Johnny: " There are always winning the artists which are flashy and loud screaming, not the best. A competition which is teasing itself can not expect that somebody will take it serious." Also we talked a littel bit about the dead Michael Jackson. At the photoshooting everything was like always very professional. Johnny worked years ago also as a model and if you look at his old performances at the songcontest you can see his modelqualitys and also his similarity to Patrick Swayze. Quick I could change the lightdirections and so I could conzentrate myself completley about the expression, place and light, meanwhile Johnny was focused on his charisma and posings. At August 1. I present, because of a great demand, a portraitworkshop at which you can see over my shoulder. You need to be fast because there are only three places left!! I would be happy to meet you there. This week I will photograph again some topmodels at the set and also I photograph for international magazines but about that I will tell you the next time.

Als großer Musikfan war es mir eine Ehre am vergangenen Sonntag den internationalen Star Johnny Logan zu fotografieren.
Johnny Logan wurde in Australien geboren! Er ist er einzige Musiker welcher den Eurovision Song Contestzweimal gewonnen hat.
Logan hatte den Song Contest 1980 und 1987 gewonnen.
Er war mit seinen Titeln "What's Another Year" und "Hold Me Now" sehr erfolgreich.
Mit seinem aktuellen Album "Irish Connection" feierte er Erfolge in Skandinavien. In Dänemark erhielt er Platin, Gold in Schweden und doppel Platin in Norwegen auch erreichte er in allen drei Ländern Platz 1 der Albumcharts. Alle Konzerte in diesen Ländern waren komplett ausverkauft. Johnny war in Wien um auf dem Donauinselfest zu spielen. Das Donauinselfest ist ein Freiluft Musikfestival mit freiem Eintritt, das seit 1984 jährlich gegen Ende Juni in Wien statt findet. Mit bis zu rund drei Millionen Besuchern an drei Tagen ist es das größte Freiluft-Festival Europas. Wir fotografierten Johnny im Hilton Danube Hotel. Eine Stunde vor Beginn des Shooting baute mein neuer Assistent Martin Pold das Set, in einem uns zur Verfügung stehenden Seminarraum, auf.
Dazu gehörte ein aufklappbarer Hintergrund, Lichtschlucker sowie 5 Lichtquellen. Verwendet habe ich ein Hauptlicht durch eine schmale Softbox von vorne, den Hintergrund mit zwei Blitzlichtern ausgeleuchtet und zwei Spitzlichter von einem rechten Winkel von hinten auf Johnny gerichtet.
Nelly Baumann machte Johnnys Make up und wir haben sehr rasch in ein Gespräch gefunden.
Johnny ist wirklich sehr nett und wir haben uns gut verstanden.
Wir haben viel über die Musikbranche gesprochen und über den Songcontest und darüber, dass dieser sich in den letzten Jahren eher zu einem Witz entwickelt hat.
Johnny: " Es gewinnen immer jene die am schrillsten und lautesten sind, nicht die besten. Ein Wettbewerb der sich selbst durch den Dreck zieht kann nicht erwarten, dass man ihn ernst nimmt." Auch über den gerade verstorbenen Michael Jackson haben wir ein wenig geplaudert.
Beim Fotoshooting ging es wie immer sehr professionell zu. Johnny hatte früher auch als Model gearbeitet und wenn man sich die alten Aufnahmen des Songcontestes ansieht so kann man gut seine Modelqualitäten wie auch seine Ähnlichkeit zu Patrick Swayze erkennen!
Rasch konnte ich die Lichteinstellungen verändern und mich so voll und ganz auf den Ausdruck, Standort und Licht konzentrieren während Johnny sich auf seine Ausstrahlung und Posings konzentrierte.
Am 1. August veranstalte ich, aufgrund großer Nachfrage, einen Portraitworkshop, bei welchem man mir über die Schulter sehen kann. Beeilt euch, denn es sind nur noch drei Plätze frei!
Ich freu mich auf ein kennenlernen. Diese Woche fotografieren wir wieder Topmodels am Set und fotografieren für internationale Magazine, davon berichte ich euch unter anderem dann beim nächsten Mal.
Who follows my work and for example bought my new book can see how my photography get changed in the last years. My style did mainly changed in my erotic photography. It gets more and more important for me to show not only beautiful woman also I wanted to achieve that the viewer of the picture and of course my fans stay a longer time in front of the picture and look at it. So that the picture invites the viewer to think about different scenarios and to let one´s imagination run wild. You are shocked , inspired or just laughing about it. I wanted to achieve, like with my landscape photographies, that you can feel yourself into the photo. If people go to the cinema, or with other artdirections they experience the same thing. They see a dramatical or funny movie and can feel into the story. This is of course very hard to build with a photo, picture or sculpture, but this is and will always be my job. More important for me it was to show in my new calendar for 2010 12 Sujets in this kind. Last week we photographed the last Sujet for the calendar. We worked on the set with a huge effort, we work with actors, models but also with amateurs, because of they have this neccessary innocenc which is very good in the photo. Attached you can find some making of pictures. The real pictures you can see after the summer. But to give you a little foretaste I will tell you a little bit about my last shooting. I had a sujet in my head with a metro full of people with different characters, men, women with different age and as maincharacter a nude woman. If it is a day or night photography I decided on set. At this kind of photography it is more then important that the pictures are not look unnatural, all characters need to make their part perfect. It is like a TV series - good or bad! Because the viewer notice this immediately, especially pictures in a calendar, in which he can see a motive a whole month long. The better the motive the more views and different thoughts the picture will capture. Although it was very exhausting and complex to create this calendar, I had a lot of fun to realize my vision. The whole team needs to bring more power, beginning from make up, costumes till the search for the right location, all is getting complex but of course it is also more interesting. Like you, also I need to wait till September to see your reactions and the reactions from the media of the calendar. In the next months I am often on the road between Germany, England, Italy and France, so I am able to tell you more about interesting productions and dates.

Wer meine Arbeit verfolgt und zum Beispiel auch mein neues Buch erworben hat, wird sicherlich bemerkt haben, dass sich meine Fotografie in den letzten Jahren verändert hat.
Verändert was meinen Stil betrifft und dies vor allem in der erotischen Fotografie.
Immer wichtiger wurde es für mich, auf meinen Bildern nicht nur schöne Frauen zu zeigen, zusätzlich wollte ich erreichen, dass sich die Betrachter des Bildes und meine Fans länger damit befassen können.
So dass das Bild sie dazu einlädt selbst an verschiedene Szenarien zu denken und sie so im Stande sind Ihrer Fantasie freien Lauf zu lassen.
Man ist geschockt, inspiriert oder lacht einfach darüber. Ich wollte erreichen, dass man sich, wie bei meinen Landschaftsfotografien in die Aufnahme rein fühlen kann. Wenn Menschen ins Kino gehen, erleben Sie ähnliches, wie auch bei vielen Kunstrichtungen. Sie sehen sich ein Drama oder eine Komödie an und lassen sich fallen. Dies ist natürlich sehr schwer mit einem Foto, einer Skulptur oder einem Gemälde zu erreichen, aber das war und wird auch immer meine Aufgabe sein. Noch wichtiger war es mir in meinem Kalender für 2010, 12 Sujets dieser Art zu zeigen.
Letzte Woche haben wir dafür das letzte Sujet fotografiert. Wir arbeiteten am Set mit großem Aufwand, dabei waren Schauspieler, Statisten, Models aber auch Anfänger haben ihren Reiz um eine gewisse Unschuld zu vermitteln. Anbei könnt ihr ein paar Making of Fotos sehen. Die wirklichen Werke enthüllen wir aber erst nach dem Sommer.
Um euch schon ein wenig Lust auf mehr zu machen, erzähl ich euch ein wenig vom letzten Fotoshooting. I Ich hatte ein Sujet von einer voll besetzten U Bahn im Kopf, mit unterschiedlichen Charakteren, Männer und Frauen unterschiedlichen Alters und als Hauptcharakter ein nacktes Model.
Ob es sich um eine Nacht- oder Tagfahrt handelt habe ich erst kurzfristig am Set entschieden. Bei dieser Art Fotografie ist es mehr als wichtig, dass die Bilder nicht gestellt wirken, sondern das alle Akteure sich öffnen können um so Ihren Part perfekt rüberzubringen.
Es ist wie eine TV Serie, gut oder schlecht! Denn der Betrachter merkt dies sofort, gerade bei einem Kalender bei welchem der Betrachter das Motiv ein ganzes Monat lang sieht.
Je besser das Motiv um so mehr Blicke und unterschiedliche Gedanken kann es einfangen.
Obwohl es anstrengender und aufwendiger war, hat es mir viel Spaß gemacht den Kalender umzusetzen!
Das gesamte Team bringt mehr Leistung, vom Make up,Kostüme bis zur Locationsuche, alles wird dadurch aufwendiger aber natürlich auch interessanter.
Wie ihr muss allerdings auch ich mich bis September gedulden um zu sehen wie eure Reaktion und die der Medien sein wird.
In den nächsten Monaten bin ich viel unterwegs zwischen Deutschland, England, Italien und Frankreich und kann euch daher auch viel von interessanten Produktionen und Terminen berichten!
One of the most interesting things in my job is the fact to meet everywhere new people from different directions like sports, art, music, acting, politic but also people with just normal professions. Often its coming to a friendship because of you find together interests and opinions. In the last days we had a special photoshooting, we were recommended through Nina Ruge, who is great fan of my work. We photographed for the network women in Munich. 20 women with handicaps and with different fates stand in front of my camera. For sure a lot of my colleges would have fear of contact. But who know me a little bit better knows that also I have a sister with a handicap, Petra. So it was not so difficult for me to work with them and it was for me a special honor that they gave me their confidence. All together the production was three days long with women with different fates, one born with her handicap and other who became with an accident to her unlucky fate. I would be very happy if all of my fans would buy this book, it will be published at the end of the year. Although in some moments I was very sad I also saw the amazing charisma and energy which these beautiful women showed at the shooting. I also saw how intensive they life in comparison to us without any handicap. Just honestly, open, pleased with a few and mainly just happy. We photographed in a school in a auditorium where we build a mobil studio. Because of I knew that next to my pictures there would also be some private pictures it was quite sure for me that the pictures need to look very simulary, same style and first of all very calm. At this time the light was not so important, more important it was to make the ladys smiling, because I did not want to make some sad pictures. I wanted to make with the pictures a good balance to the mostly very sad interviews and storys in the book. Also all involved persons where very happy with our calmness and balance at the set and of course we are very happy about to come in autumn to the book presentation back to Munich. Also the author from the book Sonja Berthold will maybe come to my calendarpresentation in september in Vienna. At the next time I will tell you about the extraordinary shooting for my calendar. Das interessante an meinem Beruf ist unter anderem, dass man viele neue Menschen kennen lernt und zwar in den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen wie Sport, Kunst, Musik, Schauspiel, Politik aber auch Menschen mit einfacheren Berufen.
Oftmals entstehen auch Freundschaften wenn man bemerkt, dass man gemeinsame Interessen und Ansichten hat! In den letzten Tagen hatten wir ein Fotoshooting der besonderen Art, empfohlen wurden wir hier von Nina Ruge, die meine Arbeit sehr schätzt.
Fotografiert haben wir in München, für ein Buchprojekt des Netzwerk Frauen! 20 behinderte Frauen mit unterschiedlichen Schicksalen standen vor der Kamera.
Sicherlich würde bei vielen meiner Kollegen Berührungsängste entstehen. Wer mich aber genauer kennt, weiß, dass ich selbst eine behinderte Schwester habe, Petra. Somit ist es mir leicht gefallen mit Ihnen zu arbeiten und es war mir eine Ehre, dass sie mir ihr Vertrauen geschenkt haben.
Insgesamt waren es drei schöne Produktionstage mit Frauen unterschiedlichster Schicksale, díe eine mit ihrer Behinderung geboren die andere erlangte durch einen Unfall ihr unglückliches Schicksal.
Ich würde mich sehr freuen wenn alle meine Fans dieses Buch kaufen, welches Ende des Jahres erscheinen wird.
Auch wenn es mich in manchen kurzen Augenblicken traurig gemacht hat um so bewußter habe ich ihre Ausstrahlung und Energie wahrgenommen die diese Damen hatten. Auch leben sie so viel bewußter im Gegensatz zu uns ohne jegliche Behinderung. Einfach ehrlich, viel offener, mit sehr wenig zufrieden und vor allem glücklich. Fotografiert haben wir in einer Aula in einer Schule wo wir ein mobiles Studio aufgebaut haben. Da das Buch neben meinen Fotografien auch mit privaten Fotos gestaltet wird war mir schnell klar, dass alle Fotos möglichst gleich aussehen sollten, der gleiche Stil und vor allem ruhig. Diesmal war auch das Licht nicht so wichtig, viel wichtiger war mein Handeln um die körperlich und geistig behinderten Damen zum Lachen zu bringen, denn auf keinen Fall wollte ich traurige Fotos schaffen.
Ich wollte mit den Fotos einen Ausgleich zu den höchstwahrscheinlich traurigen Interviews und Schicksalsgeschichten im Buch schaffen. Auch alle Beteiligten waren von unserer Ruhe und Ausgeglichenheit am Set sehr zufrieden und wir freuen uns natürlich im Herbst bei der Präsentation des Buches wieder nach München zu kommen und mit einigen Kontakt zu halten!
Auch möchte uns die Autorin des Buches Sonja Berthold vielleicht zu unserer Kalenderpräsentation im September in Wien besuchen! Beim nächsten Mal berichte ich euch über die sehr komplizierten Sujets für meinen neuen Kalender!
